Poetry in the Air

The moon is absent tonight
Only love illuminates the room
As you finally rest in my embrace
Far away in a dreamland
Yet in my deepest reality

Your slumbering hills
And inviting valleys
My promised land
Waiting to be explored

Anticipated scenery
Much more beautiful
Than any of those dreamy dawns
My yearning heart painted
With poetic words and shades of purple
When we still dreamed of the sunrise
On separate sides of the ocean
That does not divide but unites
Our islands – in love

On this night of wonders
I lay my lips on yours
Just to capture your smile
So that I can carry it with me
To wherever the journey takes us

A peaceful rest drifts over me
And I surrender
Under the covers of something
Unconditional, eternal and safe

I have nothing to wish for anymore
There is poetry in the air tonight

Under My Skin

Nearly two months on WordPress. I am deeply touched by your love and encouragement. Thank you (145 times).

This is my first poem on WP – for no specific reason. I just wanted to test how “re-blogging” works.  I also slightly edited the original.

I have two really important deadlines approaching, but I’ll try to get something new posted soon. I’m not going anywhere, and I will definitely enjoy your work during my writing and editing breaks.

Hope you all have a wonderful, inspiring week. Happy writing!!

Echoes and Reflections

There is
An unforgettable story
Resting
Under my skin
Waiting
To be told

A poetic masterpiece
We outlined
While our lips
Melted together
In a sensuous surrender

Powerfully devouring
We became one
Strong
In heart, body and soul

Your smile
Found a home
On my lips
The infinity
Of your eyes
Stole my breath

As we traveled
To the heights
We had never
Experienced before

There is
A devastating story
Hidden
Within my heart
Longing
To be released

A fairytale
We dreamt and lived
On a journey
To a destination
Where we never arrived
Together

Afterglow

whirlwind_of_feelings___oil_painting_on_canvas_by_leonidafremov-d2w7oha

 Alone
In the afterglow
Lying here
In our memories

Reminiscing
How it felt to be
An inspiration
For your
Creative fingertips

How I melted
Like soft clay
In the hands
Of a dedicated sculptor
As you made me
Your secret masterpiece

And yours alone
I still am
In the afterglow
Of our love

Reminiscing
How it felt
To unfold you
With my love
One layer at a time

How my hopeful lips
Stole your breath
And made it ours
In the kiss
Of truths
And expectations

And still tonight
I breathe our love
When I escape to the place
Where yesterday’s spark
Still flames
Where unwritten poems
Sensuously moan
Where you stay
With me

Unforgettable
In the afterglow

Nostalgia

I have been touched by the words
Of some genius poets and brave dreamers
Illuminated by the all-knowing light
Carried into the midnight romance
And I have made love
In the morning’s hush

Yet

I have never felt at home –
The amazement of belonging

I have never found heaven –
The safety of a warm embrace

Like I did, with you

When the music played
And lilacs bloomed

The Absence

In your absence
I am nothing
But the melancholy
Of unspoken words

Voiceless
Like a forgotten song
Your heart
Used to sing
With a poetic tone

Until
The precious shades
Of our dawn
Unexpectedly
Turned into the sunset
Of our love
And you vanished
Into the silence

Where I am nothing
But a distant heartbeat
Or even a fading echo
Anymore

Nothing
But the melancholy
Of unspoken words
In your absence

Morning Glow

As timeless
As the Sun’s blaze
Your smile
Upon mine

The dawn paints
The blissful sky
With soft hues
Of Aurora’s blush

As we embrace
Quietly
Lovingly
Like the morning dew
That lingers
On waking flowers

Warm rays
Of your smiling heart
Surround me
Fill me
With pure beauty

In the morning glow
We are nourished
Calm
Like the sea
After a nocturnal storm

Skin melting into skin
Lips searching for
Their resting place
We discover
The great truth

The eternity
Of your eyes
Meets mine
