Afterglow

whirlwind_of_feelings___oil_painting_on_canvas_by_leonidafremov-d2w7oha

 Alone
In the afterglow
Lying here
In our memories

Reminiscing
How it felt to be
An inspiration
For your
Creative fingertips

How I melted
Like soft clay
In the hands
Of a dedicated sculptor
As you made me
Your secret masterpiece

And yours alone
I still am
In the afterglow
Of our love

Reminiscing
How it felt
To unfold you
With my love
One layer at a time

How my hopeful lips
Stole your breath
And made it ours
In the kiss
Of truths
And expectations

And still tonight
I breathe our love
When I escape to the place
Where yesterday’s spark
Still flames
Where unwritten poems
Sensuously moan
Where you stay
With me

Unforgettable
In the afterglow

    1. What a compliment! Thank you, Kimberly. To me, writing is like breathing out my life… and my poems are just echoes and reflections from my journey. I have never considered myself so “gifted” but very blessed. I am amazed and pleased that you like my work.

  3. Beautiful. I especially liked the second last stanza,

    And still tonight
    I breathe our love
When I escape to the place

    Still flames

    Sensuously moan

Very apt. Will go have a goosey at your other work.

You paint with all the great images, layering your words to create different shapes and colors, which are then left vividly dancing in the corners of the mind, long after the page is turned and the image is lost visually. I completely love that about your writing.
