I wish…

Sirens by the Sea

I wish
I could
Melt
From your touch
Gracefully
Like a snowflake
Melts
Into its warm
Resting place
Leaving shivers
Of beauty
In its wake

I wish
I could
Merge
Into your melody
Become
An undying piece
Of music
That will never
Fade

I wish
I could
Because
Without
Your touch
Without
Your melody
I am nothing
But a mute
Wanderer

You are
The voice
In my world
Of music

I wrote this piece while waiting for my muse to fly back to me. Some of you may recognize the first verse – I recycled it from my old piece: “Déjà vu” (October, 2013) – it never felt finished to me.

I found this extraordinary painting from Aquileana’s intriguing and inspiring blog!

  1. Thank you very much for pointing me towards your post and the beautiful painting, Noora!
I love your poem, as well, I believe it reflects pure and warm sentiments, that I personaly think we should take more time to express towards both the world in general and the ones we love and are close with.
I absolutely adore that second stanza, because it feels like it reflects perfectly what I wish for. My husband is a musician, and it perfectly describes what I would like to be for him forever.
