Like impatient swans
In early spring
When the snow was still
Unwilling to melt
You flew into my world
Just a little too early
While my eyes were still
Desperately staring
At the horizon
Of my fading dreams
Like a serendipitous light
In midwinter
When the sun was still
Struggling to shine
You invited me to surrender
Just a little too early
While I was still
Learning
To fly
Again
But I do remember
The possibility
Of a new journey
When the swans
Arrive again
Just a little too early
To survive…

I especially love:

Very beautiful, as usual! 🙂 I love that you used swans in this poem. How fitting.
By the way, due to some financial issues and our vacation home still not being fully built, we have to push back our trip to Greece. My family and I probably won’t get to go until around Christmastime. I’m still excited, though because I’ve never spent time with my family in Greece during the holidays and have never seen Crete in the winter!

I love your new profile pic, Eva!! I’m glad you liked the poem and the swans 🙂 Swan is the national bird of Finland, btw. Christmas in Greece sounds so special!! I know we’ll meet in Crete one day. 🙂 Have a great weekend.

Hello.
First of all, I love your work. I tend not to read too many other people’s blogs, but your work is beautiful.
However I didn’t come on here just to pay you (well deserved) compliments, I wanted to thank you. You always read my work and ‘like’ it, and I wanted to thank you so much for that.
Also, if you ever wanted to try your hand at collaboration on a poem, get in touch.
Much love,
