Perfectly Still

Perfectly Still

The day
Refuses to die
Evening birds
Quietly comfort
The wordless sky

Bittersweet concerto
Inspires me
To write
My own
But some poems
Are better left
Unwritten

The day
Refuses to die
Raindrops lie
On sleepy flowers
Perfectly still
Like sorrow
Almost forgotten

Echoes and Reflections

Come
Walk with me
Where wildflowers bloom

Lie beside me
Beneath the irresistible sky
Point out
The constellations
You wish to fly to
I will take you there

The star chart is printed
On your skin
I will trace
My fingertips
Intimately
Across the beauty
I read like braille

Pausing

At the loveliest places
In order to forget
The world
But never you

Love,
Until the wildflowers
Begin to wither
In summer’s farewell

Come
Walk with me
Where all our journeys end

How I long to pull you close
Feel our hearts beat sacred symphony – in unison
Drift off to sensual laziness
Nothing but warm skin between us

Trace the fullness of your curves
With my curious fingertips
Paint an everlasting love scene
Write a sweet haiku
On your skin

Admire your sleepy gaze
The emerald eyes filled with passion and peaceful calm
Read out lyrical creations – for your ears only
Fall asleep bodies tangled, fingers entwined
Dream together – in safe bliss

Tonight is not one of those nights
But still I love you here
Arms wrapped around you – from miles away
A step closer to the breathtaking dawn
That shines in the colors of your soul

This photograph speaks to me. I can relate to this beautifully vulnerable and fragile atmosphere.

“Echoes and Reflections” blog started a week ago (on WordPress). I’m blown away by the love, support and encouragement I have received. I’ve found so many extremely gifted poets and writers out here – you inspire me tremendously. I’m truly blown away by you all, and so humbled that you’ve decided to join me on my journey. Thank you.

Only an Ocean Away

A walk by the sea
Of my own imagination
Searching for the words
For one of the many
Yet unwritten compositions
My soul sings
Without lyrics

Aiming to still portray
How it felt to love her –
With all of me
How it felt to be adored –
By her heart
How her soul entwined with mine
In the deepest meaning of the word:
Intimacy

The longing north wind
Quietly weeps her name:
soft, melodic and merry

I don’t have to wander
The trails of yesterday
So that I could find her again
She is still in a sacred place
Where I once welcomed her

The slumbering waves sigh
They evoke memories of the moments
When we fell asleep hand in hand
When my touch was more than a touch

I whisper my four lettered confession
To the place
Where the sea joins the sky
With an invisible kiss

Infinite sea,
Please carry my love to her shore
To the place
Where she nourishes her soul

Tell her
I’m never alone
On my endless exploration journey
There is always hope
Walking by my side
Gratitude in my heart

The memory of our love

I’ve Never Needed Poetry More

It was one of those days when my heart was heavy and hope was out of reach.

All of a sudden Teija messaged me on Facebook. She sent me a few “test shots” and asked my honest opinion about them. Haha, as if I would not adore everything she creates.

Well, this particular photograph touched the very depths of me. As it reminded me of yesterday and the painfully beautiful forgotten dream – it also reminded me of tomorrow; I have yet not lived.

I started writing a poem called: “I’ve Never Needed Poetry More”. I have not been able to finish it yet, but hopefully one day I’ll find the missing words. I hope one day I’ll be brave enough to actually write it.

I hope.
