I wish…

Sirens by the Sea

I wish
I could
Melt
From your touch
Gracefully
Like a snowflake
Melts
Into its warm
Resting place
Leaving shivers
Of beauty
In its wake

I wish
I could
Merge
Into your melody
Become
An undying piece
Of music
That will never
Fade

I wish
I could
Because
Without
Your touch
Without
Your melody
I am nothing
But a mute
Wanderer

You are
The voice
In my world
Of music

I wrote this piece while waiting for my muse to fly back to me. Some of you may recognize the first verse – I recycled it from my old piece: “Déjà vu” (October, 2013) – it never felt finished to me.

I found this extraordinary painting from Aquileana’s intriguing and inspiring blog!

Serenity

Serenity
Descends
Upon me
It lingers
Like the soft notes
Of Mozart’s legacy
Or a devoted caress
Immortalized
On my skin

Northern wind sings
Along with fading stars
And morning birds preach
In secret codes
While the dawn
Still hesitates
To arrive

Serenity
Descends
Upon me
As I sink into
Smiling silence

Déjà vu

Duet

There you are
Bare
Like a virgin page
Waiting for
The flaming breath
Of my words
To tease you
Fill you
Define you
All that you are
Or could be
For me
With me

If you lend me
Your lips
If you let me taste
The unspoken magic
They withhold
If you let me savor
The sweetest essence
Of inspiration
Slowly
Soulfully
Until our verses
Intertwine
In a sensuous duet

I promise
You’ll see
A masterpiece
Mirrored
In my eyes

Your aftertaste
Intimately lingering
On my quivering lips
Craving an encore
