Utopia

Skin on skin
Yet not close enough
Breathing you in
Desperately
Until you
Vanish
Like mist
On forgotten valleys
Where birds
Preach about
What-ifs and used-to-bes
Where the crescent moon
Reminds me of
How your hands
Loved me
Before dawn
Where a ghost choir
Serenades
Overplayed love songs
Where loneliness
Embraces me
Poetically

Note: I never meant to be away this long, but life has a way of changing directions suddenly. 🙂 Please, be patient with me as I catch up on your recent posts – a blog at a time. I’m trying my best to focus on reading/commenting your work more regularly again. It’s great to be back. I’ve missed you!! Love and inspiration. Always. – Noora

Four short poems

UNTITLED

I want to touch you
Yet not touch you

The fragile light
Wanders across
Your slumbering hills
And inviting valleys
But I am still
Like morning dew
On sleepy flowers
Absorbing poetry
At its finest

I want to touch you
Yet not touch you
But memorize
Each curve
And pathway
With my poet’s eyes
Until I melt
Into the scenery

NOTE: I realized I never finished this piece because I decided to use “slumbering hills and inviting valleys” in my poem called: Poetry in the Air– please, feel free to read it.

ONE-NIGHT STANDS

Adrift
Like my
Night-time poems

Replayed memories
For no one to view
Silent sorrow
For no one to interpret
Protected secrets
Never meant to see
The daylight

Lyrical one-night stands
Forgotten
In the morning

When my yesterday
Turns into
Someone else’s tomorrow
Where I am nothing
But a haunting sunset

ABANDONED

My skin
Still aches
From where
Your fingertips
And lips
Traced pathways
And marked territory
You never claimed.
We both burned
With the same fire
But why am I
The only one
Left smoldering

MEMORIES

Sometimes
They come
And stay
Uninvited
And play
With the strings
Of my heart
Slowly
Soulfully
Refusing
To leave
Like an adagio

© Noora

They are NOT new (!) and not in any specific order. I wasn’t sure about posting them (at all) because “One-night stands” and “Abandoned” are slightly depressing. I often edit my old drafts/notes (written years ago), but I doubt I’d ever work on these pieces again, so, perhaps it’s time to set them free – and most of all get over my “nothing to post” stress. Ha!

Love, laughter, inspiration
Always

My first haikus

My first ones:

PEACEFUL HURRICANE
my skin – your valley
lips mark their territory
sensual earthquakes

SERENDIPITY
the hues of your heart
melt into my horizon
surrender awaits

SOUL BOND
earth, water, fire, air
you, me, we, eternally
some things never change

NIRVANA
dripping divine love
eyes closed, tasting her passion
drunk on morning dew

SPRING
migrant birds return
i am still in the same place
lost my direction

… and a bonus haiku 🙂

YOU :))
indescribable
OR too many syllables
damn fucking haikus

****

Hey! I am so sorry for the absence.

Here are some random haikus. I’ve never written them before, but I was encouraged to try. I wrote approximately 30 “heart haikus”, but I’m not satisfied with them. I turned old notes into haikus and wrote a few in one sitting. Well, since “write like no one is reading” IS my motto for the year, I decided to post a few anyway. I enjoy reading haikus, but I didn’t enjoy writing them. lol. Ok, once I stopped taking it so seriously – it was fun … kind of. :)) Counting syllables was a challenge for a Finnish girl though. 🙂 I may have messed up with some words, but at least I tried.

Hope you all have a beautiful and inspiring weekend,
– Noora

Duet

There you are
Bare
Like a virgin page
Waiting for
The flaming breath
Of my words
To tease you
Fill you
Define you
All that you are
Or could be
For me
With me

If you lend me
Your lips
If you let me taste
The unspoken magic
They withhold
If you let me savor
The sweetest essence
Of inspiration
Slowly
Soulfully
Until our verses
Intertwine
In a sensuous duet

I promise
You’ll see
A masterpiece
Mirrored
In my eyes

Your aftertaste
Intimately lingering
On my quivering lips
Craving an encore

Euphoria

Nestled
In a deep
Smiling silence

Revitalized
Like nature
After a long
Winter’s rest

Breathless whispers
Wandering hands
Sleepy kisses
Devouring eyes
Speak of love
Better than
The finest poetry

The blushing sun
Peeks over the horizon
As we break
The dawn’s silence
With moans and sighs
Of pure euphoria

Intertwined
In a hungry embrace
On our first morning

Poet’s Eyes

Hands in paint
Fingertips aching
Dripping
With artistic desire
To paint
The indescribable

As I embrace
Your nakedness
Physical and emotional
With my poet’s eyes

Rationality abandoned
Senses awakened
I surrender to the unknown
For my heart is my guide
And love is my gravity

Hands in paint
Fingertips aching
Dripping
With ardor and fervor

I watch you
Come alive
Through my poet’s eyes

Our Symphony

Two silhouettes
Bathe
In the fragile moonlight

Dreamy glances
Play an inviting
Yet silent prelude
Until the breathless sighs
Begin to echo
In the stillness

Ascending anticipation
Increasing need
To play the symphony
That never
Grows old
But always vibrates
Within us

Our hearts drum in unison
With each
Yearning beat
A passionate masterpiece
Gets louder and stronger
Like a midnight thunder

Beautifully orchestrated
Crescendo
Unfolds
The finale

Smoothly
Devotedly
Fiercely

Quivering in harmony
We outshine the moon

The Senses of Love

Your breathless whisper
In my ear
Sensuous notes
Of love and lust
This is what my heaven
Sounds like

The sunrise
In your eyes
As we tie a lovers’ knot
In body and soul
This is what my heaven
Looks like

The heat
Of your bare body
Resting upon mine
As we enjoy our lazy day
This is what my heaven
Feels like

The flavor
Of your desire
On my lips
Making me yours – completely
This is what my heaven
Tastes like

The aroma
Of your smooth skin
Filling the air
With pure seduction
This is what my heaven
Smells like
